"I had the pleasure of meeting Glynn 30 years ago when I was visiting my sister, he was kind enough to do sketches of my three children. I knew he was good but wasn't aware of how versatile he was. His pictures paintings are amazing and l am mesmerized at the various styles of work he did. Well done Rene for putting his work on the web for all to see." |
"Rene, AMAZING!!! You are right. I only got to see a very small amount of Glynns output. Have spent the first hour of today viewing your excellent site, thoroughly enjoyed it. Glynns pictorial compositions are so wide and varied arent they. I can see many influences. Many, many thanks for a great evening last night. Fancy a trip to Carlisle? Will contact you after the Christmas madness abates, love - Ian." |
"Fantastic you have compiled glynns work very well and the story of glynns life was superb it should be published. Best wishes john." |
"Site is brilliant. Forgotten how many of these I have seen around yours, Lorraine's & Molly's over the years. Will be coming home soon so would like to visit Mima & see the scullery for myself." |
"Dear Rene, It was such a pleasure to meet you the other night at Chloe's show at the Pop Up Gallery. I love your husband's work as you said I would. I am a painter too and love the lushness of his work and the intelligent representations.
You've done a great job with the website and I posted it on my facebook page as a great artist from Middlesbrough. I hope to see you again in the near future. Hopefully you will come to Morbid's spoken word night on Jan. 27th at the Python Gallery. I still want to watch Radio Days too!"
- Cheers, Mary Lou.
" Brilliant!!!" |
"What a wonderful website and such a fitting tribute to Glynn - well done Rene." |
"Hello, you may recall we spoke in the MIMA today (metal sculpture / your husband / general stuff) . What a great web site you have here. Your husband had a fabulous take on life, it is nice to know his spirit lives on through his work. I appreciate the colour, vitality and humour in his work. It is very refreshing to see art like this, it is not pretentious just real. I am going to take my time looking over these superb paintings. They actually knock spots off the work we saw today, albeit it by exceptional artists.
Bye for now, Simon & Kathryn."
